Bluetooth

A personal area network (PAN), also know as IEEE 802.15.1 With bluetooth you can connect and exchange information between devices like mobile phones, computers, PDAs, digital cameras and printers.

EDGE

Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution. Digital mobile phone technology, which works in GSM networks. EDGE can carry data speeds up to 236.8 kbit/s

EMS

Enhanced Message Service. SMS extension which enables simple sounds and images sending.

GPRS

General Packet Radio Service. Enables high-speed wireless Internet and data communications in GSM network. GPRS offers speed up to 115kbit/s and it's considered a 2,5G technology.

GPS

Global Positioning System. GPS is satellite navigation system. It is used by people around the world as a navigation aid in cars, airplanes, ships and mobile phones.

IMEI

International Mobile Equipment Identifity i.e. unique serial number.

Infared port (IrDA)

Allows mobile phones, PDAs etc. to connect to other device. With IrDA you can exchange information between devices like mobile phones, computers, PDAs.

MMS

Multimedia Messaging Service. Like SMS but you can add pictures, music etc. to your message.

OLED

OLED (An organic light-emitting diode) is an next-generation display technology and one great benefit of OLED displays over traditional liquid crystal displays (LCDs) is that OLEDs do not require a backlight to function. OLED displays need less power.

SIM

Subscriber Identity Module. A smart card that securely stores the key identifying a mobile phone service subscriber, as well as subscription information, preferences and text messages.

SMS

Short Message Service i.e. text message. Allows users to send shorts messages from mobile phone to an another mobile phone.

TFT

TFT (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) is a one type of LCD display tecnology. It's a variant of liquid crystal display (LCD) which uses thin film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image quality.

UMTS

Universal Mobile Telecommunications System is third-generation (3G) mobile phone technology. Enable faster transmission rate that GSM.
