When we will see the first all-in-one Sony Ericsson?

Sony Ericsson’s phone portfolio is growing, that's for sure and the last announcement day on June 14th was a huge success, I think. Sony Ericsson finally announced the 5 MP Cyber-Shot handset that I have been waiting for since January 2007. They also announced 5 other phones and I think Sony Ericsson has now a quite good portfolio. They have more low-end and mid-end phones than they used to have. That's important if they want to raise their market share. Still, I think there is one model missing, which is all-in-on handset, such as Nokia N95 is.

Can Sony Ericsson W960i compete with Apple iPhone?

Sony Ericsson recently announced a new flagship Walkman handset, called W960i. It's a real music phone with 8GB internal memory it can hold up to 8000 songs, which is pretty much for a mobile phone and actully it's as much as iPhone (the better version) can hold. Speaking of which, Apples iPhone will out on June 29th, but only in USA and Sony Ericsson W960i will be available in the end of this year, so iPhone will have some advantage of that. On the other hand, in Europe the situation is different. iPhone will be out in the Europe in the end of this year or in early 2008. Let's see what happens. We might even see new version when the iPhone comes to the Europe.

Sony Ericsson P1i - the new era of P-series

It finally happened! Sony Ericsson announced the "totally" new P-series phone, called P1i. The P1i is the successor of P990i, but if you look at the design, you might think it's a successor of M600i, but it's not, it looks like Sony Ericsson has discovered that the M600i design is better than P990i and it's time to renew the P-series design. I think it's a good thing. I choose M600i over P990i, because it's smaller and lighter. P1i is 25 % smaller than P990i, so it's a big difference. P1i is still a little bit bigger and heavier than the M600i.

Do you think that Sony Ericsson W880i can challenge iPod when it comes to music? iPod is the most best selling portable music device in the world and there are many companies that wants to beat Apple's iPod, such as Microsoft and Creative, but those companies are not any more the only threats. 5 MP camera phone - Where are you?

In November 2006 I wrote an article "Sony Ericsson and year 2007" In that article I talk about what new models we will see in 2007 and my one big guess was that Sony Ericsson will soon release it's first 5 mega pixel Cyber-Shot camera phone, but reality is that the best camera phone still got only 3,2 mega pixel Cyber-Shot camera. I was very disappointed when Sony Ericsson announced the K810i because basically it's only the K800i with a new design, nothing more. 5 MP camera phone - Where are you?

How iPhone affects to Sony Ericsson?

Apple announced their first mobile phone at Macworld and they call it iPhone. In case you haven't heard anything about iPhone I will tell you some main things about iPhone. Basically it combines three products - a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls and a breaktrought internet communications device with desktop - class email, web browsing, maps and searching. What makes it so cool then? Sony Ericsson has touch screen phone with internet and music player, doesn't it? Yes it does, but what I have seen so far, it looks like iPhone just makes these all thing better way.
