Slim and Sexy, that’s the new mantra Sony Ericsson people have deployed in this phone, apart from being slim, sexy, this is a total attention magnet, I am sure you will look at it constantly until you say “perhaps, its only a phone, not a human”, well I can bet on that.

Coming to the review The cell phone is very light to hold, it weighs just 71 grams, so it won’t be bulky in your pocket. W880i is actually the first slim Sony Ericsson and it’s only 9,44 mm thick. Sony has deployed a tiny TFT 256k screen, but it could have been 16 million colors. Screen is a 240 x 320 pixels and measures 1.8 inches, small but decent.
The phone is targeted among the youngsters and music lovers, who are of all ages. Since the phone is launched under the “W” series, we assume the main power is music and not fashion. I am pretty sure this will answer the queries of all Sony Ericsson lovers asking for an all in one phone.
The phone is equipped with 3G capabilities, so you are in the present, but seems that Sony forgot to deploy EDGE in this master piece, which leaves the phone with a merge 384 kbps of maximum speeds.

The Bluetooth is nothing to say about, rather common these days, we do not have the WiFi, well since this is a music phone I really don’t feel the need for WiFi. So on the connectivity front the phone is a sure hit.
The phone comes with an inbuilt 16 mb memory, small though but it’s backed up by M2 card with a support of 1 GB, although the M2 prices are sky high, so masses with low budget may have to live with small memory or just 16mb.
Browsing is fun with the inbuilt net front browser also capable of RSS feeds, so you never miss your updates.
The camera is a decent 2 Mega Pixel with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, quite decent one, and since its 3G equipped we have a secondary VGA camera. Here are some snap (copyright GSMArena) taken from the camera.

The music quality follows the “W” generation, extremely rocking, I was dissolved in the music I played on it. The bundled headphones are o excellent quality, since the ear plugs are extended a bit, you can experience good sound quality with noise cancellation too.
Talktime is 6 hours and 30 minutes, while the standby is 425 hours, this is the company claimed figures. The standby time is quite long, but like we know, Sony Ericsson is great when it comes to battery life.
Conclusion – For music lovers it’s a piece you cannot miss, and 3G is an added advantage, for casual people I would not recommend this phone much as this is not made for you, its for music lovers, although you will be attracted towards the slimness for sure.
