Sony Ericsson M600i is a Symbian OS smartphone which has QWERTY-keypad, 262,144 colour TFT (240x320 pixel) touchscreen, 60MB internal memory and and of course it’s 3G and it’s designed for business and home office use. M600i weighs 112g, it’s 10,5 cm long and 5,4 cm wide.
The lack of camera and WiFi might be a problem for some people but it also might be a plus, because the design is very solid. There isn’t any unnecessary moving parts and that’s why the phone feels lasting...
The first impressions
So, I opeded the black package and saw the phone first time. I thought – wow, this phone really is quite small and light! Right away I was sure that this was the right phone for me. Small and light smartphone, just what I need.
I turned the phone on... Turning the phone on took quite long but luckily the first start is only this long. I still have to warn you. M600i won’t start fast, it takes some time... but not too long.
I was quite familiar with the user interface right away. It’s quite simialiar with SE’s non smartphone but of course there is many different things. I will tell more later.
QWERTY-keypad wasn’t that nice at first but I knew that when I get used to it I will love it! For my fingers the kaypad is good but if you got big fingers the keypad might be a problem...
Design and usability
I really like the design of this phone and I think that M600i is a very beatiful phone. The design is very smooth because there isn’t any unnecessary moving parts. Black M600i consist of two colors black and turquoise.

Usability... hmm... I think Sony Ericsson M600i is quite user friendly and nice to use. Of course it’s not as nice to use like non smartphones but still good enought. Sometimes the OS feels quite slow but most of the time I enjoy using it.
QWERTY-keypad is great if you know how it works and of course I know how it works :) I enjoy using it and day after day it’s getting better.
The roll button on the left side is good and with that button you can use the phone without touching the screen.
Touchscreen
This is great because it works! Of course you need to traing a little bit but in a few minutes you know how it works and what is the best way to use it.
The pen is good because it’s not totally made of plactic. There is some metal in it and that’s good because you can feel it. It’s a bad thing if the pen is too light... The pen is the best way to use the screen but the screen works great with fingers too.
Applications
My memory card had lot of apps, such as Handy Day, Handy Expense, Handy Safe, SlovoEd, WayFinder and more. Of course Sony Ericsson M600i has all basic apps like calculator, stopwatch, conventer and so on.
There is also some office apps, such as PDF+ and QuickOffice. PDF+ is a PDF reader and it works but small screen cause some (big) problems... QuickOffice is great! You can create and read word and exel files.
What M600i doesn’t have?
There’s no camera and also WiFi is missing if you need these features and you want Sony Ericsson phone then you need to take a look at the P990i.
M600i has one BIG problem that I haven’t mention yet – It doesn’t have profiles! How this can be possible? I just can’t understand...
Conclusion
Basically, buy this phone if you need office and smartphone features, but you don’t need camera of WiFi. I will of course recommend you to get this phone. It’s awesome!
